You are good enough for yoga (and here's why?)Â Â
Â
If youâve ever thought, âIâm too inflexible, too out of shape, or just not good enough for yoga,â youâre not alone.
This is one of the most common fears people have before starting yoga. The images we see onlineâbendy bodies doing gravity-defying posesâcan make it feel like yoga is only for the super flexible or ultra-fit. But let me tell you a secret:
Yoga is for EVERY body.
Hereâs the truth:
- You donât need to touch your toes to start yoga.
- You donât need to hold the perfect pose.
- You donât need to be âgoodâ at yoga because thereâs no such thing as doing it wrong.
When I first stepped onto a yoga mat, I couldnât sit cross-legged without my knees sticking up by my ears. đ But I kept showing up, and little by little, things shiftedânot just in my body, but in my mind too.
Yoga Meets You Where You Are
One of the most powerful aspects of yoga is how it reconnects you with your breath. Deep, intentional breathing can instantly calm your mind, lower stress, and make you feel more grounded.
Letâs try this together right now:
1ď¸âŁ Take a deep inhale through your nose for 4 counts.
2ď¸âŁ Hold your breath for 4 counts.
3ď¸âŁ Exhale slowly through your mouth for 6 counts.
4ď¸âŁ Repeat this cycle 3 times.
How do you feel? Just a minute of mindful breathing can bring calm to your dayâand thatâs a big part of what yoga is about.
